Looking to become a red head?
Here's how to pick the perfect shade of red and maintain your new look.

If you have warm brown/hazel/green eyes an auborn shade of red has a lot of warmth to compliment your warm undertones and look the most natural.

If you have cool pink undertones in your skin with blue/grey eyes you would want to choose a cool red shade with a red violet base to best compliment you.

All reds are beautiful and vibrant but they tend to fade faster than blondes and browns. Therefore they do require a little bit more maintenance to keep them looking their best.

After transitioning a client to their new red color I like to make a few recommendations that are easy for you to do at home. The first is to buy a color safe shampoo with little to no sulfates. Pureology products are great for anti fade color. If you are an everyday washer it is best to try and only shampoo every other day if possible. Rinse your hair with cooler water to help keep the hair cuticle down so your new red color does not fade as quickly. Lastley, in between color services it is good to come into the salon for a red glossing treatment to refresh your ends and keep your red locks looking fresh and vibrant.
