Thick Hair Problems: Wavy Hair Texture

I have thick hair, maybe I don't give it enough credit about how thick it is. Point is, I used straighten it all the time because I did not know what to do with my hair... My hair, to me, at the time was just a puff ball if it wasn't straight, it was an embarrassing mane of hair to me. I started working in the salon atmosphere when I was about 14 and I thought that would have been a great opportunity for me to learn a little better on how to style my hair the way it naturally is; well it somewhat helped, at least I knew of some products like Redken Curl Boost that smelled fabulous and gave some control to my hair, but at the end of the day I still had puffy, frizzy, puppy ear looking hair style. The plus to that was that it smelled great. Anyway, years went on working in a hair salon and finally another product was introduced, Ouidad. It wasn’t the products that caught my attention at first, but the carving and slicing technique. The technique completely eliminated my ‘good old’ puppy ear hair style. I am now able to have a nice shape with more control to my hair because the Carving and Slicing technique in a way “Skinnied” my hair, also thanks to the Ouidad products. I am happy that Ouidad came into my life and helped me achieve my fabulous mane a.k.a the crown on my head (as every head of hair should be to a woman!)
On a side note: Some people wonder if I was able to wear my hair straight with the Ouidad cut, and yes I am able to. My wonderful mane looks great wavy/curly or straight. LOVE IT
How I achieved my look:
Ouidad Tress Effects Gel, Wave Create Texture Taffy, and Clear Control Pomade.
Application: Completely saturate hair with Tress Effects Gel (I usually part my hair in 4 sections and saturate them in that way) then scrunch hair with Texture Taffy (dipping my head upside down to scrunch my ends). I then scrunch one more time with a damp towel to encourage more texture. The final step is diffusing (diffusing is important to me to set the curl and to encourage more fullness but with control); I diffuse for about 15 minutes upside down, sit back up, put in my duckbill clips, and then diffuse my sides until completely dry. The final product I use is the Clear Control Pomade, I scrunch it in my hair to not completely open my curl but not have it too crunchy. And that ladies and gentleman is how my mane is created!
