How to mentally prepare yourself for a haircut

I recently cut my hair but I worried, because for me having long hair, it would be shocking.

I wasn't in shock at all, but I definitely braced myself and this is how I did.

First, I would imagine myself with a shorter style by tucking back my hair and having the longest of my shortest layer stay around my face.  I thought it actually looked pretty good! Something nice and different.

Second, I told myself it would be a healthy start!  This is definitely true in my case and the same for others. After a while hair loses its "umph," so why not start over and do better at taking care of your hair!

This is the effort I am going to make now with my healthy start:
I shall not put my hair in a tight bun
I shall not curl my hair with an iron without a heat protecting product
I shall not speak badly about my hair
I shall deep treat my hair with protein and moisture.

Now, everyone is different. But I am in the category of  "obsessed" with my hair and this is how I handled cutting my hair.
