"Much like a song, a haircut is made up of several different elements, each part supporting the other – together making a solid work of art," says Hammett, an avid music lover and a 2015 graduate of Phagan's Academy of Cosmetology. "I chose to be a hairstylist because I love making people feel great." Since she's joined the team, she's attended a balayage class from Redken Artistic Education Director Kris Sorbie and a class led by Redken Artist Geno Stampora, as well as honing her skills with salon owner Liz Rose-Worman and salon education director Chachi Tuy. "Thanks to the incredible education program Salon Ethos provides, I'm continuing my education all the time," she enthuses. She focuses on haircuts, styling lessons, all color services, up-styling for all occasions, smoothing treatments, makeup lessons, skin matching, and facial waxing. Nearing the end of her intensive associate's program, she "can't be mo re excited to see where my career takes me!" and she's also very happy to be more active in community services in the area. "As an individual that has battled depression since the age of 11, I was moved by everything Salon Ethos does to raise awareness on behalf of Stylists Helping Youth with Mental Illness (SHYMI)," she explains. "Holding fashion shows to raise money and then donating it to local foundations makes me even more excited to be a part of the Salon Ethos team!"
