The difficulties of special needs children are very close to our hearts at Steve Hightower Hair Salon & Day Spa. Steve has a
nephew who is a medically fragile young adult. He has seen the physical, emotional and financial challenges his sister and
brother-in-law have had in caring for him. His family has been blessed with a very strong support system. But many
medically fragile children in the Atlanta area need our help. They need someone to advocate and fight for them! Their
desperate needs are not being met by our state's programs for the poor, the disabled and the displaced. Many pressing
needs are not covered. State funding has been cut and these children's needs are covered at less than 50%. We know that
there is need all over the world today. There is hunger, abuse, violence, disease, natural disasters...it is almost too much
to bear. We want to help by starting right here in our own community. We can make a difference here. The children in the
agencies we support are in desperate need.
To this end, we sponsor several annual events and drives to assist children who are medically fragile, abused or displaced.

Our Annual Gala: Thriving Children - An Evening to Believe In is our big event each year. This fundraiser is currently in
its fifth year. This event features a fashion show, live orchestra, hair show, silent auction, dancing, food & drinks.
All proceeds will go to The Center for Children and Young Adults.

Our Annual Children Christmas Wishlist Drive - is in it's 9th year. With the help of our clients, we supply the wants and
need of many children and young adults in need. The past several years have included the wishlists for over 100 children.
This is a joyful part of our holiday traditions.

Day of Beauty is a cause we have supported for many years. We donate our time and talent to help children with
Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism experience a day of makeover beauty and relaxation. Day of Beauty

Lost-n-Found Youth, Inc. is Atlanta's only nonprofit agency actively working to take homeless LGBT youth off the street.
We support their efforts and offer makeover sessions to assist them in acquiring work and learn to lead independent
