Cara Hughes Cara Tanner Hughes grew up in Mobile and earned her AA in Cosmetology at Bishop State College in 2001. "My father taught me the benefits of being self-employed. I admired his hard work and the pleasure he got from working with his hands. I have always liked making things - crafty stuff, sewing, projects. After high school, I knew that working with hair would be the perfect career for me. I love the creative aspect and the client relationships – nothing is more gratifying to me than helping my customers look and feel their best." Cara specializes in natural looking color and highlights. In order to stay at the top of her game, she has continued her education by frequently attending industry training seminars. Some of these include L'Oreal Academy of Color in New York City, a TIGI cutting class in Austin, and classes with celebrity stylist Nick Arrojo in various cities and in his New York City studio. "Nick Arrojo has become my mentor. He taught me how to approach the art and the business of hair from both a practical and an artistic angle. It is so exciting to take his concepts about style and bring them to my clients here in Mobile." Cara is married to Keenan Hughes and they have three daughters. They have also been fostering since July of 2018 and enjoy getting the occasional little boy to shake things up a bit. When she isn't thinking about hair and beauty, she is probably on her boat! |

Having 2 parents who were both doctors, always put what was most important into perspective. But being an artistic child I couldn't help but look at my Mothers beautiful grey hair as a canvas I wanted to paint.
