Community Involvement

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We are actively involved with our community's events and charities whether it is through gift certificates or donations of our time, Brassfields Salon and Spa has a strong commitment to our community.

It is important to us as a team to be involved in our community. Over the last 25 years we have designated charities that are important to us and contribute to them annually.

Brassfields is honored to support the following organizations and charities:
 

    * The Junior League of Tacoma-The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

 

    * Hands on Health- a charity organization that generates money for breast cancer research. We donate one full day’s profit.

 

    * Phoebe House- a halfway house for women reentering the work force. We donate products, styling tools and hair services.

 

    * Zoobalee- is a non profit event that directly supports the Zoological Society’s education programs for children and local communities as well as efforts to help save threatened and endangered species both locally and around the world through conservation, publicawareness and research.We donate hair and makeup services, sample products and gift cards for them to auction.

 

    * YWCA- The YWCA is a shelter that house battered women and their children. We go to their facility and perform complimentary hair and makeup services on the residence. We also give styling tool and hair care products.

 

    * Every year through a social worker in our area, we pick two to three families to donate to at Christmas time. With a staff our size we can contribute a lot of gifts and decorations to give these underprivileged families an awesome Holiday.

 

    * Heart Ball-a non profit event that raises funds to support the mission of the American Heart Association and makes a special appeal for programs that benefit children's health. The Heart Ball is a black tie affair attended by distinguished residents from Pierce County, including business leaders, politicians, and medical professionals. We donate service packages for auction.

 

    * Courage Classic-a non profit cross country cycling event that raises funds for the Rotary endowment supporting Child Abuse Prevention.

 

    * Festival of Trees-an annual event benefiting Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and HealthCenter organized by community volunteers, the Tacoma Orthopedic Association and Mary Bridge Children’s Foundation. The Festival of Trees not only raises funds, it also creates an opportunity to place Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Center as a focal point in the community. We donate service packages for auction.

 

    * Fashion Tea-a non profit event that raises funds to support the local Zoo and Aquarium. We donate service packages for auction.
